Music is one of Self-care during the pandemic

Music is one of self-care during the pandemic. At least it is for me. How about you? What do you do to keep your sanity? When we went self-quarantine in early March this year, I had no idea this would go on this long. As soon as we went on self-quarantine, the government declared it was pandemic. I am sure, first of all, most of us, like me, didn’t expect it would last this long. But here we are. Now it is in October; we are still in the crisis with coronavirus.

I don’t know whether you believe it or not, but certainly, our lives changed. When you can’t go out and your activity is minimal, what else can we do.

work

Well, somebody got to do it. Many of us still work remotely, and it’s new normal. Thank God for technology helps us to stay connected.

Reading

Reading is another thing we can do. I am rereading some books. I posted the blog about it earlier. If you missed, here it is. https://fashionbykukanaana.com/what-am-I-rereading-during-self-quarantine/

Watching Netflix

Are you guys watching more Netflix? Spending more time with social media? Well, I do. I spend more time and catch up all Netflix and actually even re-watching some of the old movies.

All things we have to do, but how about self-care? To keep our sanity, I also feel it’s important for us to spend time for us. So what can you do? For me, it’s music. Music is one of self-care during the pandemic.

Practice my cello

I took up a cello lesson while back ago but had to give up for a while due to my accident. I was in therapy for almost a year, and even after my therapy, I wasn’t able to hold my cello for a long time. Every week, I tried to hold the cello and couldn’t it and got discouraged. I thought I could never play, so I was thinking of selling, but one day boom, it just worked. I was holding my cello. Of course, I went back to my cello lesson again. Starting from the beginning again. Since the pandemic, I have extra time due to not going to the office every day, so I have extra time to practice.

Listening music

Listening to music is also one of my self-care. Whether I enjoy listening to Amy Winehouse, Yo-Yo Ma, or Andrea Bocelli, music really calms down, and appreciate what I have. Nowadays, we listen to music anywhere. We have an iPhone/iPad. I usually download music on my iPhone, and if I want to, I can take a wireless Bluetooth speaker. I can listen to either study room or lie down in a soft; it doesn’t matter.

This is a really unusual year. We all need to take precautions to protect us and find ways to keep our morale and positive outlook. For me, it’s music. Music is one of self-care during this crazy time. What about you?

Stay safe!!
