Happy Holidays are coming

Happy holidays are coming. Soon everybody is in a mood for decorating, shopping, sharing, volunteering, and thinking about gifts. And of course, party outfits.  Sometimes it can be a chore.  We all have the roles we have to play whether we want to or not.  Also, I believe during this time, we all reflect and plan for the upcoming year.  I am no exception.

As I try to write my last blog post for 2018 with so much going on in my mind, it is hard for me to think about what to start with. I know my blog is all about fashion but in reality, my life is not all about fashion.  Fashion is what I like and am interested in but I am a normal person like any of you. I have a career. I have a broad range of interests. I have ups and downs and I am still discovering about myself.  I still like to hold a “piglet” and still think about Winnie the Pooh.  I realize what I decide and what choices I make that make me, ME, that’s what is so interesting.  Maybe that’s what life is all about!! Keep making choices…

I have so many challenges this year. I had a serious injury and the loss of a loved one, which led me to think about life and death. All these crazy events threw me off balance. I have become more open to spiritual beings and have decided to “live well, cherish life, have fun and enjoy.”  That’s when “fashionbykukanaana” was born.

Some of you who read “a bit more about me” in my blog may have noticed, I refuse to shop paying a full retail price. I also don’t want to spend a fancy party outfit that I will only wear once. If I have to attend a really formal event, I rather go in a short dress than a long formal dress. I feel with a short dress I may be able to wear it from time to time with sweaters, coats, etc. If I really want to, I can play with my hairstyle or my make-up to create a party look.

Here are a few outfit ideas:

Alexis Black leather outfit with long length gloves and Knee-high boots

Diane von Furstenberg beige sweater and Alice +Olivia textured mini skirt (You can wear the sweater with jeans etc. )

Rebecca Taylor decorative top with Tibi leather pants
