How to celebrate Halloween this year

How to celebrate Halloween this year? This is a good question, don’t you think so? This year is not like any other year. This year is different. First, we are in the middle of the Pandemic crisis. Second, people have stayed at home, and children haven’t attended school. We have been doing many things remotely. Thirdly, election day follows shortly after Halloween. Really, lots going on this year. So how to celebrate Halloween this year brings up many things to consider.

Halloween, Is this Cat woman or Batman?😂😂😁

Halloween origin

Halloween’s origins date back to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain (pronounced sow-in). On the night of October 31, they celebrated Samhain, when it was believed that the ghosts of the dead returned to earth. https://www.britannica.com/topic/Halloween.

My best Halloween experience

Incidentally, the best Halloween day I had was in San Francisco. And that day, I discovered a mint martini. Several years ago, I had to make a business trip with a colleague. It was the last-minute thing, and we had to rush, rush. He was staying at his daughter’s place, and I stayed at the hotel downtown. I don’t even remember the name because I didn’t make a reservation. And it wasn’t a big hotel chain place. If so, I should have remembered. After my meeting, I went to dinner at the hotel restaurant, where I tried a mint martini. OMG, it was powerful with a ground mint green martini it was.

I didn’t even realize it was Halloween day until I saw people wearing costumes coming into the restaurant. The city was in a celebration mood, adults even more so than kids. After dinner, I walked the street, enjoying people’s costumes and behavior. It’s wild.

Halloween, since I don’t have kids, it’s not a big deal day for me. I just go to work as usual. My place is gated, and usually, kids don’t come in for candies so I missed out on all the fun on Halloween days. But seeing how it was that day, it was a day to remember.

This is how I will celebrate Halloween this year

This is my plan for this year to celebrate Halloween. My friend and I will be in Santa Barbara and chill out and enjoy the beach. In the evening, I will have a nice dinner with a martini. I can get the mint martini, great. Otherwise, I will settle for an apple martini. It’s green color anyhow. For me, this year, Halloween is a getting away and relaxing day.
