How To Dress When You Don’t Have To Dress Up

Today’s topic is how to dress when you don’t have to dress up. So I am sure many of you have been in a sort of weird stage due to the pandemic. I can, for sure, tell you that I notice that I am not as much concerned about how others perceive me how I look. Even I go to the office now and then, and I notice that I am not put together myself for work like I used to do. Pandemic changed so many things. Most of my shopping consists of face mask these days.

We do dress up for work or in a certain event and situation. Why do we do it? Because what we wear is the first thing, people notice us when we meet for the first time and judge us. Even on a hot day, our clothes cover most of our bodies. So it is normal how people are judging us based on what we wear. The color of clothes, the clothes’ material, how we carry on when we wear clothes, what kind of brands we wear, these all count. We are continuously judged by what we put on.

However, with the pandemic, we have been careful not to go to the places. Many places are closed. We have been avoiding crowds. Since our lifestyle has changed, so the way, we wear things. In reality, we don’t really need to dress to play a part anymore.

So How to Dress you don’t have to dress up

Be Comfortable

The first thing is to be comfortable when you don’t have to worry about dressing up. Most of us work at home, remotely. Even though things are getting better with vaccines and things are opening up, we have to be careful. So when it comes what to wear, I will say you put your comfort first. After all, you are not going to the office, and you more likely not to encounter many people. So why even worry about how to dress up? Put yourself first. You can be more productive when you are comfortable.

So what is comfortable mean to you? It depends on who you are. Each of us has our own way of defining what’s comfortable. I do dress up for work and on a certain occasion for myself, but being comfortable means a lot. I dress weekdays and but on weekends; I am all for comfort. So I might wear rompers, jumpsuits, shorts, jeans and T-shirts and a big shirt.

Dress Up For All Your Favorite Outfits

The second way is to wear all your favorite outfits when you don’t have to dress up. And if you don’t have to, that doesn’t mean you don’t have to wear outfits you love. So I will say, wear all of the favorite outfits you can. You don’t have to wait for any occasion to wear your favorite outfits. If you feel like it, wear it, especially we don’t have to dress up. Even if you take a dog for a walk, please do if you like to dress up. Dress for yourself when you don’t have to dress up.

You may also put together something you want to experiment, but never did. Use as many colors as you want to experiment. Use different shapes and different materials to see what works for you. I noticed 2021 spring fashion with lots of colors, flowers, patterns, puff sleeves, and leather. Here are some of my ideas of things to try on.

How to dress when you don’t have to dress up is the time you have an opportunity to try things you want but never have been able to do so for whatever reason. It’s time everybody is working remotely. You may not see the people you used to hang out with as much. So why not try something unique. Try something you won’t normally do and also wear something comfortable.

Maybe it’s time you can also copy or try fashion you saw fashion books or fashion magazines. You don’t have to concern what others think these days very much. So take this as an opportunity. Do wear whatever you feel and whatever you feel comfortable with. Whatever you feel represents you, that’s what you dress. Try old fashion style, reorganize your closet, and restart wearing the old items that you love but out of date that you set aside.
