How to manage Influencer journey to Social Media
How to manage influencer journey to social media is today’s topic I like to share. This is based on my journey, mainly on the experience of my social medial channel Instagram. So I have been on Instagram for a little over three years now. Initially, when I started posting on Instagram, I wanted to keep myself busy to overcome the grieving experience that made me depressed. Therefore, I wanted to focus on doing something like other than work. So fashionbykukanaana was born.
In the beginning, I posted pictures and some quotes and started getting a few followers. And then, the pandemic came, and I ended up more time. That helped me to start the blog and started learning more about how to monetize using social media. That made me think I should consider being a creator or an influencer. With that, my journey began.
Unlike some who do social media full-time, many of us who want to be an influencer is still working full-time and more likely taking on a journey. If you are like me, one of this category, I am sure you may be able to relate to it better. So here is what I have learned so far.

How to Manage Influencer Journey
1. Creating contents
The first thing I learned is that creating quality content takes time and some thinking. It is one thing to take pictures and post but creating quality pictures requires better lighting, composition, and so many other things that go with it. As more people want to engage with social media and want to monetize, it becomes important to produce better quality pictures and stay with what category influencer you want to be, whether fashion, beauty, or whatever message you want to convey.
However, unfortunately, some of our expectations are such many influencers are heavily beautifying the pictures. Of course, I do use some apps as well. But I try not to go “overboard” if I can. And try to take pictures with better lights.
Not only better pictures but also conveying our messages become important as well. Thus posting one single picture is not like a one-minute task; it becomes a much more time-consuming task.
2. Growth Game Play
As many wants to be on Instagram and grow followers to monetize, there is an unspoken competition to get the followers. Therefore one of the tactics many of igers are using is the “follow and unfollow” game. Mainly this is done when igers are using a marketing agency to grow their Instagram. The logic behind this is that the other will be more likely to follow back when you follow. The ugly side of this is once the other start following, the originator unfollows the other party. Thus, it’s a kind of game the igers are playing, which in my opinion, is pretty tacky.
This type of tactic confuses influencers and creates anxiety. This is one of the mind game that influencer has to manage on the influencer journey.
3. Journey to Social Media Time Commitment
As influencers start to grow their accounts, all is suggested is to keep up with followers to stay connected. Therefore, engagement becomes essential. This takes time if one really wants to make a meaningful conversation. It takes to read and respond. If influencers can hire someone or have a marketing agency can do it will be great. However, most starting influencers have to do everything themselves.
I find it very challenging when I have to work full-time. Of course, I also like to do things, so there is a decision I have to make whether I spend the time on my hobbies or relaxing or engaging with followers and respond.
How to Manage Influencer Journey Conclusion
So here are things I learned as I took steps to become an influencer on social media. The main three takeaways are:
- be able to create quality content
- have to be able to manage psychological games igers play
- time requirement can be a lot more than expected
Of course, there are unfortunately scandals happening for some of the influencers along the way. Their account gets hacked. Some people are sending inappropriate messages. All the mind games that influencers may have to cover come. It also takes time, Be patient and manage the mind games people play, have a goal in mind, and eventually will reach the outcome to be an influencer.

Great points!! I started my blog out on Instagram and Facebook and then months later, I went on WordPress and started a blog. It was an interesting process starting a website for my blog, but I’m glad I did it because I am able to reach people and share my thoughts on a platform that is mine.

I’m glad you feel the platform is a way to reach out. Each social media has its own strength and weakness I think. Thank you comments 😍
