How to pack a 10-day trip to Peru in a carry-on bag

How to pack a 10-day trip to Peru in a carry-on bag is my post today. This post is based on what I packed for my trip to Peru. As always, I usually carry only a carry-on bag on a short trip. There are so many reasons I want to travel lightly, and I am sure many of you are the same.

White T-Shirts

The first things I packed were white T-shirts. 4 short-sleeved and 4 long-sleeved white T-shirts.

My trip to Peru started on Friday and returned on Sunday, so it was a 10-day trip, including the travel days. On the first day, I spent most of the day at the airport as there was no direct flight to Lima, Peru. I usually wear a sweater or jacket when flying because I am always cold on the plane, so there was no difference this time.

Wool Sweaters

In May in Peru, the weather is not too hot but overcast. Because I plan to visit Cusco and Machu Picchu, where the high altitude makes the weather cold and possibly encounters rain, that’s what I have been told. So I decided to take a rain jacket and a couple of wool sweaters. One was a button-up sweater, and the other was a hoodie in case it was windy.

Jeans

I wore relaxed jeans for traveling and took two more pairs, one skinny and the other wide-legged. Since I planned to carry only a carry-on bag, I wanted to be able to coordinate. Also, my trip was to see areas and explore, so I tried to pack accordingly. However, I would have packed at least one dress if I had to attend a meeting or an event.

Scarves and hats

I also packed two scarves, wood beanies, and cotton bucket hats for this trip. Of course, I took enough underwear for my stay. For my skincare items, I only took what I needed.

Shoes

Shoes take up most of my space whenever I travel because I usually have to pack high heels. However, this time, I took a couple of flats and wore walking shoes, which I rarely wear when I travel. But I opted not to take high heels because I knew I would walk most of the time and wouldn’t have to dress up.

Conclusion

I had a great trip to Peru and enjoyed it tremendously. I ate, walked, and saw the ancient history of culture that shaped the world. My next blog post will be about the places I visited and what I did so that you will know if you want to visit Peru.

My main goal was to visit Machu Picchu, and along the way to Machu Picchu, I traveled through several cities and could travel with what I packed. So, if you plan, it is possible to travel in a carry-on bag for 10 days. Therefore, a week trip with a carry-on bag shouldn’t be an issue.
