How to celebrate spooky Halloween is today’s blog post topic. As we are slowly getting back to normal despite many changes in our lifestyle due to the pandemic, I have noticed we are eager to participate in any other activities more than ever. I guess we haven’t been able to do almost anything for 2 years, but now we are all ready to do something. I believe Halloween will be busy with trick and treat this year. Halloween origin Halloween’s origins date back to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain (pronounced sow-in). On the night of October 31, they celebrated Samhain, when it was believed that the ghosts of the dead returned to earth. Related Article – History of Halloween My best Spooky Halloween experience as an adult Incidentally, the best Halloween day I had as an adult was in San Francisco. And that day, I discovered a mint martini. Several years ago, I had to make a business trip with a colleague. It was the last-minute thing, and we had to rush, rush. He was staying at his daughter’s place, and I stayed at the hotel downtown. I don’t remember the name because I didn’t make a reservation. And it wasn’t a big hotel chain place. If so, I should have remembered. After my meeting, I went to dinner at the hotel restaurant, where I tried a mint martini. OMG, it was powerful with the green mint martini it was. I didn’t even realize it was Halloween day until I saw people wearing costumes entering the restaurant. The city was in a celebration mood, adults even more so than kids. After dinner, I walked the street, enjoying people’s costumes and behavior. It’s wild Halloween, since I don’t have kids, it’s not a big deal day for me. I just go to work as usual. My place is gated, so usually, kids don’t come in for candies. Therefore, I missed out on all the fun on Halloween days. But seeing how it was that day, it was a day to remember. And ever since, whenever I have a chance, I have tried to get the mint martini, but I haven’t been able to find the same quality in Los Angeles. How to Celebrate Spooky Halloween Last year to celebrate Halloween, my friend and I went to Santa Barbara, chilled out, and enjoyed the beach. In the evening, I had a nice dinner with a martini. I couldn’t get the mint martini. However, it was a getaway while still uncertain with covid. I expect a “trick and treat” this year, and many people will be out. So how will I celebrate? Halloween is a work day for me. I more likely not wear custom but maybe do something with make-up. Create some decoration or a horror look. And after work, more likely to come home and relax. Even though I live in a safe area, what’s happening these days has been a concern, so I will likely not want to stay out in the evening. Sadly, I rarely want to go out in the evening alone these days. I am sure most parents want to show their children spirits for Halloween, but they would concern about kids’ safety. Therefore, I don’t think they want them to stay out too late. How to Celebrate Spooky Halloween Conclusion Halloween may bring the spirit back this year, and I expect more activities. However, I also believe many parents are concerned about their kids’ safety. There will be more concerned activity and wouldn’t be going very late. Nonetheless, we will get back in the mood for Halloween this year and celebrate. In case you missed my last post, here it is – How to Dress Up with Fall Boots.
