What I look for When Shopping for Beautiful clothes

Today’s topic is what I look for when shopping for beautiful clothes. We shop, whether online or in-store. Shopping allows us to buy things we need and want, making us happy to some extent. I don’t care what others say, but I feel good when I shop, knowing I can afford it. It comes with a certain pride. However, it doesn’t mean I just spend money. I consider 5 things when I shop.

1. Appearance

The first thing I will consider is how it looks. How do I look in this outfit? I also want to see if it fits properly. Because each brand name’s size chart and cut can vary, it is always nice to make sure how I look in that outfit.

2. Money Value

The second is whether it is worth it even though I buy it on sale. Buying a brand name can be very costly. However, some can be worn for a long time, thus increasing their value. Let’s say I buy a jacket that costs $500, but I think I will wear it repeatedly, and it may be worth it.

3. Classic vs Trendy

The third thing I consider is whether it’s a classic or trendy piece. Obviously, the classic piece can last for a long time compared to the trendy piece, yet I believe each has its merits. Often, styling by adding trendy pieces can upgrade the look.

4. Stying with other pieces

Also, I will consider how I can style the piece I am buying with others I already own. Whether I buy a structured suit or dress, I want to see if I can wear it with others I already own. It could also be the color of clothing. I tend to own lots of black-colored clothing, so if I buy a piece, I also want to see if I can coordinate it with my other black outfits.

5. Consign

Lastly, I will consider whether I should be able to consign when I am tired of wearing it. I believe our clothes aren’t usually worn out, but we are tired of wearing them or no longer in our desired style as our preference changes. However, most consignment stores don’t take any items we want to consign, but they have their requirement on what they want to take. There are consignment stores like TRR (The Real Real) that will take very high-end brand names. On the other hand, Bufflow may take the more trendy and not concerned brand names as much.

Conclusion

So mainly these 5 things I look for when I shop for the clothes.

  • Does it look good on me? Does it fit well?
  • Is it worth paying the asking price even if it is on sale?
  • Is this a classic piece or trendy?
  • How can I coordinate with others I already own?
  • Will I be able to consign later?

If these things make sense to you, you may consider when you shop instead of just buying because it is on sale.
